BTE - Behind-the-Ear instruments (BTE)

BTE instruments are suitable for all degrees of hearing loss, from mild to profound. The sound is transmitted through a clear plastic tube to a custom-made earmold that sits inside the child's ear. BTEs come in several sizes, and sometimes depend on the severity of the hearing loss. However, even the most powerful BTE hearing aids are light, slender andcomfortable to wear. They also give the childthe opportunity to connect to FM devices, which give speech an extra boost in noisy situations. BTEs are the preferred and popular choice for children ages birth to 10, as they are not limited by the size of the child's growing ear, are extremely sturdy and provide easy connectivity to FM devices, especially in school. .BTEs are also always recommended for children with profound hearing losses due to the larger, more powerful battery size.
