Soft squelch

Gaia has a soft squelch microphone system which expands low intensity input. This reduces annoyance from inputs (<30-35dB SPL) that are below the intensity of speech. Low intensity background noise (i.e. hums and hisses in quiet rooms), is not amplified and this increases listening comfort.
