Binaural Processing (XW)
Two Epoqs work in unison constantly processing and exchanging data. As a result, the spatial sound compression system maintains the naturally occurring interaural differences between the signal arriving at the two ears. This is key to spatial awareness.
Binaural Synchronization (W)
The high-speed wireless technology intelligently synchronizes automatics, noise reduction and directionality to preserve speech intelligibility in all listening situations.
Binaural Coordination (V)
What represents the limit of wireless technologies in other products today forms the basis of Epoq V. With full coordination of volume and program shifts - the baseline for a balanced sound picture is secured.
Extended Bandwidth
Sound quality, localization and speech segregation are all vastly enhanced with the expanded bandwidth of 10 KHz in Epoq XW, W and 8 KHz in Epoq V.
True Dynamics
Epoq uses two compression systems which work together in parallel: a slow acting 15 channel system and a fast acting 4 channel system. This protects listening quality at all sound input levels, maximizing audibility and speech understanding while minimizing fatigue.
RITE
Receiver in the Ear provides improved overall sound quality, better high frequency amplification and provides a smoother frequency response. Hence localization cues are better preserved.
Front Focus
The natural front biased directionality of the pinna is restored in the behind the ear models to help the wearer determine whether sounds are coming from the front or back.
My Voice
Epoq can tell the difference between when the wearer is listening or talking. My Voice stabilizes sound through the conversation in challenging environments which often causes disruptive artifacts when the client starts speaking. Changes in SN ratios during listening and talking go unnoticed to the wearer.
Binaural Dynamic Feedback Cancellation
Combining input detectors in both ears the new DFC system is able to detect and eliminate false positive feedback occurrences. Music, whistling, and other such sounds can be enjoyed without the instrument trying to cancel them out.
Enhanced Dynamic Feedback Cancellation - DFC 2
DFC 2 with the new dynamic stabilizer can predict feedback before it happens and protects against sudden acoustic instability by momentarily dropping the gain in individual bands.
Life Learning
Epoq XW and Epoq W analyze volume control changes over different listening situations. It then delivers a fine scale volume level matrix scheme which is automatically applied in those situations that have been shown to need it. This decision is made over time after a proper sample has been taken. Each program is analyzed independently. Epoq V records VC changes.
FM System Module
Epoq introduces a FM receiver that snaps on to the BTE design - making it the first ever to work on a 312 battery.
Batteries
Epoq uses standard 312 batteries. No need to use more expensive Generation X types.
And more good news - Epoq is designed to run on standard hearing aid batteries.
