The feedback challenge

Feedback can distort the sound quality and disturb people in the immediate vicinity to such an extent that the user has to turn the volume right down. This can deprive them of important speech information just when it’s most needed.

Conventional Super Power instruments attempt to solve this problem by reducing the gain - either by lowering the volume or through notch filtering. But both of these strategies reduce audibility and speech understanding.
