Dual is powered by the RISE platform. This advanced engine is needed to drive Oticon's unique Spatial Sound technology.

Spatial Sound links two Dual instruments into one binaural processing system and gives brain the auditory signals in the way that nature intended. Spatial Sound surpasses bilateral fittings that can only make ear-based decisions.  Wireless communication between the two instruments preserves natural acoustic cues the brain needs for best spatial awareness aiding in:

• Localization
• Segregation
• Orientation

These effects are important aspect of the spatial awareness that makes it possible for Dual wearers to more easily focus on wanted sounds, like conversation, and "cancel out" annoying background noises.
